Dawn’s Dream in Carmel supports both local and international non profit organizations. Currently Dawn’s Dream is partnering with AIM Youth Mental Health which raises awareness and funds youth mental health research.
Dawn’s Dream is owned by Dawn Galante. You might recognize her last name from Galante Vineyards which is owned by her husband Jack Galante.
While they may be a husband and wife team and share the same winemaker, Greg Vita, Dawn’s Dream and Galante make very different styles of wine with Dawn focusing on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Dawn’s Dream’s offers several Pinot Noirs, including Rachel, Alyssa and Nicole which are named after Dawn’s daughters and female family members. I love this personal touch. Their rosé has also won multiple awards for “Best Rose In Monterey County.”
I love to visit the Dawn’s Dream tasting room on Fridays when they host pizza night with Chef Pepe. My favorite Pizza to order is the mushroom, cambozola, truffle oil and caramelized onion one. I love ordering a bottle of wine and splitting a pizza with friends. The tasting room is also home to the famous “Wine Tub” photo op!
I won this bottle of 2018 “Alyssa” Pinot Noir in Dawn’s Dream Thanksgiving giveaway and had been saving it. We decided to open it up the other day. While I didn’t have any pizza to pair it with, the aromas of cherry, red fruit and subtle baking spice made this a very drinkable Pinot and a wonderful wine to watch the sunset.
