5 Fantastic Canned Rosé Wines for Fall

Christy of Christy on the Vine sits next to a line up of 5 canned rosé wines.

Summer may be over, but I find myself still reaching for Rosé.

Living in a coastal town, I spend a lot of time on the beach and I don’t always want to bring glass with me.

One of my friends recently turned me on to canned wine and after tasting some of the options available, I realized I there are some wonderful canned wines, including single vineyard ones!

The smaller serving sizes are perfect for when I don’t want to open a full bottle and I love that I can easily pack them for a beach picnic. Much easier than carrying all of these pumpkins!

*note some of these links are affiliate links. I only ever recommend what I would purchase myself and I may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Also please note that I initially received some of these wines as trade samples but all views are my own, I was not under any obligation to post a favorable review.

Here are 5 fantastic canned Rosé wines to sip this fall:

  1. Just Enough Wines Rosé
  2. Maker Wine Sparkling Rosé
  3. Maker Wine Rosé of Grenache
  4. Mini Vacay Wines Rosé
  5. Bubble Butt Rosé Seltzer
Christy of Christy on the Vine holds a can of Just Enough rosé wine on the beach.

1 – Just Enough Wines

This first wine of my Canned Rosé for Fall lineup is this Just Enough Wines that’s “just enough” when you want more than one glass, but not another full glass.

I first saw this label when I was at Elroy’s Fine Foods. and my friend convinced me to try one. I originally tried their Brut Bubbles and Pinot Noir. When Just Enough Wines reached out to me about their Rosé I couldn’t wait to try it!

The grapes for this wine are from Central California and were grown in a Sip Certified vineyard and area blend of 48% Grenache Noir, 22% Mourvedre, 14% Cinsault, 13% Vermentino. I also enjoy Grenache based roses and this one did not disappoint.

I found that while dry Rosé had aromas of strawberry and raspberry,  melon was more noticeable on the palate. It also had a crisp minerality that I don’t always find in California Rosés.

Just Enough Wines also has a Brut Sparkling, Pinot Noir and has just launched their Chardonnay all in cans. I also love that Just Enough Wines is female-founded.

Christy holds two cans of Maker rosé wine.

2 & 3 – Maker Wines

Single vineyard wine in a can?

I learned about Maker wines from Instagram, after seeing their beautifully designed cans on my feed and hearing about the fantastic winemakers they were working with.

At first, I was astonished to hear they were canning all these wonderful wines (including single-vineyard ones!) but then I tried Maker wines and I became a canned wine convert! Maker is also female-founded which I love.

For the Sparkling Rosé, Maker partnered with Chris Christensen of Bodkin Wines. The wine is a mix of grapes “A to Z” (Albarino to Zinfandel) with a blend of nine different grapes grown in the North Coast, CA. It is also a Brut zéro dosage which means no additional sugar was added during the sparkling winemaking process.

I found this sparkling Rosé to have aromas of raspberry, citrus and florals with delicate bubbles, raspberry and cranberry most noticeable on the palette.

The can format is perfect when I want some bubbles but don’t want to pop a whole bottle. I like to treat myself to a glass of bubbles once in a while on a weeknight.

For the Rosé of Grenache, Maker partnered with Nichole Walsh of Ser Winery. Ser has been on my radar since their tasting room is in Aptos and I’ve heard great things. I need to plan a visit!

I adore Grenache, and I love Rosés made from it. This one is actually a single vineyard wine from Monterey County. Shout out to Monterey, I always get excited when I see a local wine!

This Rosé had aromas of strawberry, guava and melon. Initially, I found the strawberry to be very bold on the palate, with a hint of citrus, followed by guava on the finish.

Both of these wines were fantastic and I’ve grown to love the canned format. It’s perfect for travel – I can pack a few in my suitcase and I don’t have to worry about the cans breaking like glass can.

Christy is wrapped in a blanket and holds a can of Mini Vacay Rosé Wine on the beach.

4 – Mini Vacay Wine

Could you use a vacation? When I can’t get away Mini Vacay Wine is like a vacation in a can.

Mini Vacay Rosé is created by Sommelier, Mom, and winemaker Tamara Franscioni. I actually followed Mini Vacay wine on Instagram before I met Tamara in person at the Carmel Barnyard Ferrari Event during Car Week. I recognized her, and the adorable mini vacay cans, immediately and was excited to meet her and try her Rosé.

I know you’re not supposed to judge a wine by it’s label but the pink and rose gold is just so cute!

Mini Vacay is a Rosé of Pinot Noir from sustainably farmed vineyards on California’s Central Coast. The cans come in a pack of 4 which I think is the perfect amount to take to the beach or a picnic.

With aromas of citrus, strawberry and rose petals this dry Rosé was very enjoyable.

I also love that Mini Vacay donates 10% of profits to educational programs that support children with special needs.  You can get Mini Vacay through their website and if you live in the Monterey area they deliver for free!

Christy holds a can of bubble butt rosé seltzer.

5 – Bubble Butt Seltzer

I wanted to share with you something a little different – Bubble Butt Rosé Hard Seltzer.

Hard seltzers have become so popular lately and I’ve tried a few brands. I hadn’t found one I really liked until I tried Bubble Butt – probably because it’s wine based!

At 8.4% ABV this is stronger than a White Claw (5%) and Bubble Butt seltzer is NOT made with malt liquor, it’s made with real wine grapes.

The Rosé in Bubble Butt is a blend 60% French Colombard, 39% Burger, 1% Rubired fermented in stainless steel and the seltzer is added right before canning.

I found this Rosé seltzer to be very bubbly and have notes of strawberry and citrus. It felt like a fun, fizzy combination of a sparkling Rosé wine and a hard seltzer.I think Bubble Butt is a great option for wine lovers who are looking to try a hard seltzer. I will definitely be bringing a few cans with me next time I hand out with my seltzer lovers.

The @slhwine Sun, Wind & Wine Festival is coming u The @slhwine Sun, Wind & Wine Festival is coming up next month on May 3rd. If you’re a fan of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this event is for you - it’s almost a master class in tasting the terroir of the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. You can even taste some older wines and large format bottles in the first hour if you purchase VIP tickets.

I also love that there is a shuttle to the event that leaves directly from Monterey Peninsula College’s parking lot and drives you out to the event location.

It’s so handy and saves you coordinating travel to Mer Soleil and back. Ubering out there is easy enough, but getting an uber to pick you up there is tricky! Just a heads up, shuttle tickets are an additional fee from entrance tickets and the VIP ticket holder shuttle that gets you there for the extra hour has sold out before.

Easy snack pairing that feels ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is my go to pairing when I have friends come over. It’s perfect for @shareandpairsundays as it feels fancy, but it’s really easy to make. I think is a great combination for when you’re sitting on the couch and chatting with your friends.

You’re going to want a traditional method brut sparkling wine with this. Brut is one of the driest (not sweet) styles and that’s what’s going to taste best with the salty popcorn. I went with @roedererestate.

I lie to pop my own popcorn on the stove but you can always use microwave or ready made popcorn. While I don’t use butter because I’m lactose intolerant, butter is a great edition to this recipe and makes it feel even richer.

The acidity and effervescent bubbles go great with the salty popcorn, and if you use butter, it cuts through the richness of the butter.

POV @scratchwines winemakers dinner. I can’t bel POV @scratchwines winemakers dinner. I can’t believe this dreamy dinner celebrating winemaker Sabrine Rodems’ 20th anniversary of making wine was almost a year ago.

Sabrine’s wines from both Scratch and @wrathwines were excellently paired with a multiple course dinner prepared by the excellent Chef Selene Johnson (@mamachefselene)

This was truly a dinner to remember. Thank you again for the invitation!
I took basic winemaking this semester at Cabrillo I took basic winemaking this semester at Cabrillo College and there was a lot more math in it that I thought.

If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know I’ve been in the Cabrillo College Wine Studies program since 2021!

My good friend @fannys.wine.bliss went through the program and encouraged me to take a class taught by @deborahparkerwong. After my first class I was hooked and have been taking classes since. This is actually my last semester!

Basic Winemaking was taught by Mikael Wargin of @warginwines. I couldn’t ask for a better instructor, he is so knowledgeable.

His degree is in Microbiology, so we really leaned into the science side - but thankfully we didn’t have to memorize any equations for the tests.

To be honest, I almost cried when he first started balancing equations - I haven’t had a chemistry class since 11th grade and I studied Art History in the Visual Arts in college. Lucky for me our tests were open book and you can even take the class pass/no pass.

If you’re interested in learning more about wine in an academic setting I recommend looking into Cabrillo College’s Wine Studies Program. They offer a certificate and have just started their Associates Degree program too. While this class was in person, most of the classes are hybrid And you only go to the Aptos campus a few times a semester for tastings.
Have you met them? If you’ve been to or work in Have you met them? If you’ve been to or work in a tasting room I’m sure you have! Bringing back this oldie but goodie. Should we make more funny couples videos?

Remember this is just a joke!

@joycewinecompany Spring Release Party was a blast @joycewinecompany Spring Release Party was a blast. The party was at their Arroyo Seco location in Soledad and the weather was perfect. The last time I visited it was pouring rain!

I really enjoyed tasting their lineup, especially the Russell Joyce label, which I am not as familiar with. I was especially impressed with the Proprietary Blend, a Bordeaux style red blend from Carmel Valley AVA.

Thank you for inviting us Joyce Wine Co. we appreciate you hosting us!

@pebblebeachfoodandwine returns to Monterey Bay in @pebblebeachfoodandwine returns to Monterey Bay in two weeks! Last year was my first time attending this iconic weekend and the first time they brought the event back since I’ve been living in Monterey.

If you’re a foodie like me, then this event is not to be missed. While there are plenty of events including seminars, walk-around tastings, lunches and dinners, I think the crown jewel is the Tasting Pavilion on Saturday and Sunday.

This is event is a walk-around tasting like no other. You actually can meet award winning chefs as they and their teams serve you small bites. You can also sample handmade cocktails from mixologists and of course there is wine tasting.

I was lucky enough to receive a media ticket to attend and I also volunteered at some of the wine seminars and revived access to some events.
