5 Reasons to Visit Trentadue Winery in Geyserville

Christy sits in the Gondola car holding a glass of white wine outside of Trentadue Winery.

If you plan on visiting Sonoma Wine Country, make sure to add Trentadue Winery in Geyserville to your list. The winery is in the Alexander Valley area of Sonoma County and is only a short drive from Healdsburg. The Trentadue family purchased the land in 1959 and have been growing wine grapes for over 50 years. Some vines on the property predate the Trentadue family’s purchase and are from 1886.

Earlier in June I was invited to visit Trentadue Winery as a media guest to learn more about the winery and their wine. Please note that while this experience was provided to me at no charge as a media guest, all opinions in this blog post are my own. I would only recommend an experience that I would personally recommend to my family and friends. That said, I really enjoyed my time there and now I’m sharing five reasons why you should visit Trenatdue Winery.

1. Close to Healdsburg

Sonoma County Wine Country is vast, and wineries can be very far apart. Trentadue is only a 10-minute drive from Healdsburg. The winery is also near a handful of other wineries, including Francis Ford Coppola, Trione Vineyards, and only a short drive from Ridge Vineyards Lytton Springs and the Dry Creek Road Wine Trail.

2. Trentadue Winery Offers Both White and Red Wine

Wine tasting with a group can be difficult, especially if everyone has different preferences. Trentadue Winery offers both white and red wine across their three different labels: Trentadue Estate Wines, La Storia, and OPR wines. From their estate wines, I enjoyed their Shoe String Sangiovese best. Sangiovese is one of my favorite varieties of wine and goes great with Italian food. I’ve also tried their Estate Carriage House Carignan and Independence Lane Malbec. I have yet to try their La Storia label, but I did try the OPR Sauvignon Blanc, OPR Red, and the OPR sparkling. The OPR wines are a more affordable label than the other labels. Trentadue has started a flatbread and wine pairing option, including a flatbread with three separate toppings paired with three different wines. I haven’t tried this pairing, but it looks pretty yummy.

3. Live Music and Events

This summer, Trentadue is hosting a monthly happy hour with live music, wine, and food. When we visited for the June Happy Hour, there was a live cover band playing various hits from the last several decades. While I didn’t get up to dance, plenty of attendees rocked the night away. (This was also the first time I’d heard a cover band cover Franz Ferdinand, my favorite band in 2005, so that was a bit of a shock, but luckily there was lots of good wine to dull the pain of getting older. Tickets for happy hour are $40 for members/$50 for general admission and include wine, food, and special pricing on bottles. Trentadue also hosts various seasonal events throughout the year, including an Italian Summer Dinner and an Annual Lobster Feast.

4. Trentadue Winery’s Beautiful Location

In both Sonoma and Napa, you are spoiled for choice in beautiful wineries, but Trentadue Winery still stands out. The buildings are reminiscent of Tuscany, and the grounds are beautiful, with lush grass lawns, a Redwood grove, and fountains throughout. The winery hosts a lot of weddings, and I can see why! When I visited, we had a seated group tasting in an outdoor space adjacent to the winery with beautiful flowering vines and tables.

5. Trentadue Winery Gondola Vineyard Tour

You can tour the vineyards on their tractor-pulled “Gondola.” I’m always down for a vineyard tour, and what better way to tour the vineyards than in a covered Gondola with wine? The ride was really fun, and the vineyards were so green and lush. On our ride, we had winemaker Miro to give us an educational tour of the different vineyard blocks. The Gondola can be reserved on weekends for groups of over 6.

Well, I think those are some excellent reasons to visit Trentadue Winery, and I’m already looking forward to visiting again soon.

Monterey County is truly a special place. While I’ve lived in California for a long time now, and long enough in Monterey to call myself a local, the natural beauty of this area never ceases to take my breath away.

Monterey Happy Hour done right! If you and the gir Monterey Happy Hour done right! If you and the girls enjoy craft cocktails, then checkout @stokesadobe for your hangout.

I’m a big fan of a happy hour cocktail and appetizers, so when my friends and I decided to check out Stoke’s Adobe’s Happy Hour I was pleased with the unique cocktails on the Happy Hour menu.

Bartender @mezcalito_manny expertly mixed our drinks while we sat at the bar and chatted. I wanted to try something that different, and Manny told me about the latest cocktail he developed - Garden No. 7.

It’s his take on a gin based martini with tomato water, Sūpāsawā , Lustau Dry Vermouth, orange bitters, Condesa Gin and a hint of balsamic vinegar.

It was a really well balanced cocktail with a unique savory finish.
New menu is live at @atasteofmonterey wine bar and New menu is live at @atasteofmonterey wine bar and Executive Chef Bruce Finch has outdone himself this time! I really enjoyed the sweat and sour meatballs and the Singapore sauce for the poached shrimp was really good.

I also love that they’ve started a mocktail menu, it’s a great option for those who don’t drink or just want a non-alcoholic option. And the mocktails are so colorful!

A Taste of Monterey is my favorite wine bar in Monterey, and not only is the wine list and small bite offerings great but the view is absolutely amazing.

If you’re a local or just visiting Monterey, make sure to add this place to your list.

Thanks for inviting me to the menu sneak peak. I loved previewing the new small bites.

I’ve driven by this winery on East 46 and always wanted to stop! It’s one of the growing number of wineries offering sparkling wine in Paso Robles. We sat outside, but the inside is Parisian Chic!

Wine and food pairings with a full a cooking demon Wine and food pairings with a full a cooking demonstration? Yes, please! I love the opportunity to learn, and at the inaugural @atasteofmonterey signature event we learned all about cooking paella from their executive chef @chefbrucefinch while sipping on @lepecellars wine.

We spent the afternoon at Lepe Cellar’s Marina winery listening to live music, dinning on hors d’oeuvres, sampling Lepe Cellar wines, and watching Chef Bruce prairie a giant dish of Paella. After watching the paella cook for almost two hours, I certainly worked up an appetite.

It was almost like a wine and food field trip, as A Taste of Monterey’s usually holds their events at their Cannery Row location in Monterey.

Thanks for hosting us Lepe Cellars and A Taste of Monterey! We look forward to your next event and can’t wait to see where you’ll host it.
